Elizabeth Gordon Smith Garden Restoration 2019

In collaboration with the Gloucester DPW and a design by Ann Gilardi Johnson, ASLA, Generous Gardeners made dramatic improvements to the Elizabeth Gordon Smith Garden surrounding the Walker Hancock ‘Triton’ sculpture on Stacy Boulevard.

There are flowering trees with woodland flowers underplanted, and annuals and perennials in new beds surrounding the statute. There are teak benches, four new lampposts, irrigation and a granite-lined path to connect to the main Stacy Boulevard promenade. 2020 will be the first year of the garden blooming in all seasons. Roses and tulips were also planted and dahlias will be added to the flower beds around late May each year.
