Cape Ann’s beautiful natural environment and colorful seaside gardens perpetually inspire artists, designers, landscapers and now a growing community of civic-minded gardening enthusiasts.  As part of the seven million dollar seawall reconstruction project along Stacy Boulevard, numerous garden beds were installed and Gloucester’s volunteer group of Generous Gardeners planted them with thousands of colorful flowers. A riot of color is now enjoyed by all who stroll along the iconic boulevard. Generous Gardeners has also enhanced the rough charm of Gloucester’s working waterfront filling over 45 public spaces with beautiful bulbs, annuals and perennials. Are you interested in volunteering with us?

We are not a garden club, but rather a group of volunteer gardeners with the mission of beautification of Gloucester with public flower gardens. We now care for over 45 gardens. Stacy Boulevard is our largest, but just one of many. There are no dues, no meetings, no obligation, and it is lots of fun. Just fill out our signup form and you will be added to our email blast list. You will then know where and when we are gardening, and you can come when it is convenient. We will give you a green apron that volunteers must wear when gardening in a public space so it is clear you are one of our group.
